LEARNING THE DAYS OF THE WEEK CATEPILLAR STYLE

Today students will learn the days of the week and their correct order through a song and a game. The teacher will use a computer to use the youtube website. The teacher will use the website to show students "Days of the Week Song" to explain what the days of the week are and the order that they go in. The teacher will have the students play the Catepillar game. To play the catepillar game the teacher will use different colors of construction paper to cut out 8 circles for each student. The teacher will then print the days of the week on seven of the circles. The teacher will allow the students to draw a face on the eighth circle and line up the rest of the circles for the catepillar's body in the order of the days of the week. The teacher will help each student glue their catepillar to a piece of paper and allow them to draw the catepillar's legs. The teacher will hang the students' catepillar on the bulletin board as well as make a large catepillar to hang right next to the students' catepillars. With the larger catepillar the teacher will have students select the circle with the correct day of the week to pin on the class catepillar.
